Exploring the potential of the outdoor environment

This practical session held within Snug OSHC’s amazing outdoor environment will allow the space and time to explore the potential of the outdoors, including fixed play structures, natural elements and other structures located within school grounds/OSHC settings.

Participants will work together to identify possibilities in the outdoors and share their insights with the group, before having access to a range of resources that can enhance children’s play opportunities in the outdoors, exploring ways of presenting these to the children.

Scott will also share step-by-step instructions for constructing a tyre/rope swing, setting up hammocks, making a zip line from ropes and pulleys, constructing cubbies from tarpaulins, and how to incorporate a range of loose parts into the outdoor play setting.

All participants will also receive a resource booklet containing key information relating to the session, with spaces for making notes and jottings from discussions and reflections throughout the evening.
