We invite Norther Tasmania Long Day Care services to join this session, facilitated by Well Minds Work, designed for Early Childhood Educators working with children from birth to 5 years.

Session outline:

Psycho-education regarding physiological/neurological processes involved in anxiety (how and why it occurs)

Psycho-education regarding causes and types of anxiety

Identifying signs and symptoms of anxiety in children aged 0-5 years

Practical strategies for managing anxiety in children aged 0-5 years (i.e. arousal reduction, fostering independence, exposure of feared situations, positive reinforcement)

Practical strategies for managing our own emotional responses to children’s anxiety

How and where to get more mental health support for young children and their families

Interactive and experiential activities included throughout

Time for questions and helpful resource pack

Pre- and post- workshop questionnaire to assess learning and obtain feedback

Facilitator: Jessica Forward and Emma Richardson, Co-founders and clinical psychologists

Emma and Jessica co-founded Well Minds Work in 2020 and currently create and deliver tailored workshops as part of this partnership. They both currently work as a clinical psychologist with individuals and couples in private practice.

Emma and Jessica are passionate about empowering individuals to become their own mental health professionals through learning and self-reflection. Doing so will foster improvements in mental health, adaptability, resilience, and interpersonal relationships. To facilitate these outcomes, Well Minds Work provides tailored mental health and wellbeing workshops to organisations and individuals.
